Like most families, raising children who are very close in age can have its challenges. My children are 2 years apart and up until this point, we have been able to agree on most things….that was until my oldest (9) became a raging Mr Bossy Pants and my youngest (7) decided that whining all day makes for melody that would make anyone cringe. Most mornings are spent arguing over what to wear, how to wear it, whether or not breakfast is good enough to eat, whining and screaming – all…

A Look Through His Eyes.
Ever sit and wonder what goes on behind your child’s eyes? I mean, ever try to visualize the world that surrounds you through their simple, inquisitive nature that is life? I had a vision, and it’s beautiful. While walking Cookie to school the other day, he became intrigued by the ‘wishes’ that covered his school lawn. He’s seen them before, but today was different. The sky was dark and the clouds set off a cool color to the earth below, and cookie giggled as we walked. He…

Crafting: Magic ‘Disappearing’ Snowman
Let me start off by saying that this was A LOT of fun for my 2 little guys. We have been bombarded with snow outside and it seems that we never truly make it outdoors to enjoy it because the temperatures are either too cold or too wet, so we invented the indoor snowman as a temporary replacement. I usually make 1/2 of the mixture and it works out great for 2 people, but you can make enough for 4 if you like, or 2 larger snowmen. Here’s what you…
Hot, Sweaty and LOUD! Moggies Earmuffs To The Rescue! & Promo Code!
It’s no secret that I have a mental love affair with Lenny Kravitz…ok, maybe a physical one too. So, when the chance to see him live (again) I didn’t think twice about purchasing tickets for the whole family to attend. You see, I never leave my kids with anyone and my husband and I believe that they should be allowed to attend anything we do. One BIG problem though, I didn’t think about the sound volume before hitting that purchase button on my computer screen. Enter Moggies Earmuffs to the…
Our Horrifyingly Beautiful World.
I am a mama that worries…A LOT. I worry that my children will go out into this world that is not safe anymore, I worry about how they will adapt to a harsh reality that is today. I worry that they will be too ‘soft’ to mesh well with others, and I worry that they will never ever get to see all the beauty that truly is around them. Reality sucks. In light of the past events that have happened both last week and yesterday’s bombings, restoring faith in humanity…
Easy Chickpea and Spinach Soup! A.K.A “Swamp Soup”
I am not personally a fan of soup, nor a fan of chickpeas or spinach….BUT I love this soup! My mother and aunt have been making it for years and I have finally decided to make it at home for my boys. Since most kids hate veggies, I pureed theirs to look like what we like to call ‘Swamp Soup.’ Later I realized they liked the soup with the ‘chunks’ too…either way, this is a hearty and delicious soup the whole family can enjoy! PLUS it is the perfect meal when…
Celebrate Earth Day with Netflix! #StreamTeam
Since Earth Day is fast approaching, what better way to get your children (and yourself) motivated to kick it into high gear then with movies and education?I love Netflix for the simple fact that movies and documentaries are categorized for viewers like myself. I am a strong believer of showing my kids real-life without sugar-coating our environment. I feel that if they see things first hand, I can have the opportunity to show and explain to them why things happen. We have been watching some great Netflix…
