NYE Tips and Tricks for Parents

The long anticipated end of this year is almost here! For most of us that means new beginnings, fresh outlooks and a whole new leaf to turn in the coming one. Like most, the hustle and bustle of the Holidays have some to a slow simmer and preparation for NYE is well underway. If you have kids, that usually means a low-key party at home with popcorn, streamers and Netflix – the best kind in my opinion.

What this also means is that sometimes parents need to be one step ahead of the children when it comes to preparing a huge party shin-ding….and a few tricks up our sleeves as well. No one wants to wait out the entire night and deal with a cranky team of children the next day right?

Here are a few tips to get the party started and finished without a meltdown.

Get them to bed on time!

Count down to New Year’s Eve with on demand videos available on Netflix Canada! Keep their bedtime routine without them even knowing – because countdowns are available ANYTIME!

Party on with Trollhunters, All Hail King Julien, Skylanders Academy, Puffin Rock, Beat Bugs, Word Party as well as new appearances from Pororo, Larva, Ture and the Rainbow Kingdom at any time during the entire day – so you can party later once the kiddos are in bed! Create your own countdown New Year’s Eve party whenever and wherever you want (videos available through January 31).

Party time is anytime!

Party like a rock-star! Put the children to bed after tricking them into thinking NYE has already happened and make sure to make a list of upcoming shows you don’t want to miss in 2018!

Make a list and stick to it!

The day after NYE is always the perfect time to sit back, relax and keep those kids quiet – so parents can rest a little from a night of partying *wink* Why not create a little camp out in the family room and turn to Netflix to babysit for a little….
