Social Media On The Sand – A Conference In Paradise

It’s been 5 years since Social Media On The Sand, hosted by Beaches Resorts has launched. A social media playground for 100 women to connect and inspire each other through their business tactics and online presence. The application process is simple, social media mavens from around the world simply fill out a form and months later, wait by email in hopes to receive an invitation. I was thrilled when I was selected to attend this year October 16-20, 2019 in an opportunity of a lifetime!

The best part was that I got to bring my family along with me too. Since I have never traveled without them, I thought this was a great way to spend 5 days together in paradise, any excuse to escape.

While most of the women who were selected for this event hailed from the USA some of us fortunately came from Canada like myself. I had only learned about this conference this year so I had no clue what to expect except some sun and sand and the opportunity to connect with like-minded mothers who share the same influence both online and off. From the moment we stepped foot in the beautiful Turks and Caicos to the moment we had to leave, the entire experience was magical.

Gorgeous parties, influential speakers and real-life connections with people that quite simply wouldn’t happen without Social Media On The Sand. My kids described this vacation as the best one ever – and we travel a lot. Yes, mama had to go to some conferences and venture off without them a few times but the truth is that the time spent together was equal to that spent on my own.

So how does it all work:

If you would imagine endless gifting by brands you love while sitting in a room listening to celebrities you adore and sipping on a strawberry daiquiri while doing it all then Social Media On The Sand is where it’s at. Conference Day lasted from 8:30 am to 12 and consisted of keynote speakers like Rebecca Minkoff and Jamie Kern Lima  -what? They spoke about their failures and successes as if they were talking to old girlfriends. Each of us then branched off into smaller groups for one on one chats with social media influencers where we asked questions and mingled some more, such a fantastic group of women!

During the days that followed we were invited to gifting suites, parties and family included events. My favorite was probably hearing Daymond John speak while looking over the crystal clear bach, he was delightful and educational. There were so many memorable moments but I have to say I was floored with the Willy Wonka Splendiforous Farewell Party. Simply stunning set up, food from around the world and dancing until dawn.

How Much Does It Cost?

I know many of you have asked, or are wondering about the costs associated with the conference. I’m going to be honest when I tell you that it is not free, however we do receive a significantly discounted rate on our stay. This year, bloggers paid $550 for each plus travel costs. For each family member who attends, there is also a fee in addition to travel costs. Since International flights are not that cheap, the cost is quite substantial but well worth it in my opinion. We looked into staying at Beaches Turks and Caicos in the past, and it would have costed well beyond what we paid (like 3x more).  I can’t describe how gorgeous the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort truly is – a paradise to say the least.

My fingers are crossed for next year, I’m hoping to be invited back because I dream of that crystal clear beach daily. My family and I are so fortunate to have this opportunity and I can’t wait to show you all more of our time spent there in the coming posts.

Feel free to inbox me with any questions, I’d be happy to answer! In the meantime I will dream of that beautiful ocean view.
