Canada’s Wonderland Always Full Of Surprises

If there was ever a way to bottle up a  nostalgic memory of my past summers as a child it would be found at Canada’s Wonderland. The smell of funnel cakes, the excitement of watching roller coasters zoom by, and the long days that turn into evenings filled with cotton candy and games – it can all be found in this place. My parents would take us every single summer as children, it would be the event of the season. We would go thrill seeking on rides and spend hours just running from one to the next. When I was growing up we lived so close to Canada’s Wonderland that it became a sort of second summer home to my friends and I. Once I turned 16 and could work, that’s exactly where I went to get my first job too – could you imagine a better place to work than a theme park filled with endless summer fun?

That it was.

A summer spent making friends, learning and falling more in love with the adventure it is to visit Canada’s Wonderland time after time, day after day. Fast forward what seems like zillions of years later, and here I am with my own littles taking them to the theme park that set the backdrop to my very own childhood.

We were very fortunate to be invited by Canada’s Wonderland to partake in their blogger program for a few days and fully took on the challenge of exploring the park as a family. I have to admit, while the paths and walk ways seem to follow my memories, the rides, games and even restaurants seem so different to me now. Mama was just as excited as the kiddos for this one!

As we arrived, we decided to walk as far as we could to the back of the park and work out way up to the front so that we wouldn’t have to leave thinking we missed out on too much. Our entire morning was spent hopping off and on rides – perfect morning spent with the kiddos. Later we stopped for lunch and I was surprised to find that the park now offers meal plans….say what? So many options to chose from and even a buffet!

Yup! MEAL PLANS – que the music!! This is every parents dream in my opinion. The last thing anyone wants is to argue with a screaming kid about food options when spending a day out. This was a win-win situation for us and super affordable too! We did however save room in our tummies for some much needed funnel cakes because any visit to Canada’s Wonderland isn’t complete without a funnel cake! Once again, I was surprised to see new options on the menu – hello s’mores funnel cake! OMG! heaven!

We did get rained out somewhere in between our visit but we made the best of it and waddled the rest of the way in our soggy shoes and wet bodies. The entire day was memorable to say the least. My kids especially loved the Cirque Canadienne performance! They really had the crowd going and it was a perfect escape from the rain for us.

We will definately be returning to Wonderland this year because there is always something to do an explore. Can’t wait to return to enjoy the upcoming events and partake in some more thrilling rides since the kids are now old enough to ride them with me.

Do you make an annual trip to Canada’s Wonderland with your own family?
