We are a family that travels quite often, both in cars and on planes and the Holidays usually have us doing that more often. Christmas consists of travel to visit relatives 2 hours away, and car rides are usually long and ‘boring’ for my kids aged 8 and 11. To be honest, the travel time seems like it doubles for me too – the constant whining, and questions of when we will get there make 2 hours seem like 8!
In fact, 1 in 5 Canadian parents say one of their main concerns when travelling is keeping their kids entertained. With the holidays just around the corner, parents can look to offline viewing on Netflix to keep everything, and everyone, under control while on the go.
Check out the ‘Available for Download’ menu on the Netflix app on your mobile or tablet device and browse all of the titles available to take with you whenever and wherever you want.
Recently, we’ve discovered the Netflix download option on our tablets and let me tell you, it is a lifesaver for long trips! Now my children can download while at home and watch their favourite shows and movies while on the go! This is a bonus for those times we are stranded at the airport or on a long plane ride whereby mom and dad just want to read or catch a few zzz’s.
So how do we keep BOTH Kids entertained you ask? Easy! we just make separate accounts for each child and download accordingly. That way we have a happy 8 year old and we still remain the ‘cool’ parent with our oldest. Headphones are a must of course, but this way everyone’s happy and mama can watch her shows too!
